Rhode Island shot its way past Temple 90-75 to win the fifth-place game at the Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational Wednesday night.
The Rams (6-2) made a season-high 12 3-pointers - seven of which were by
Jonah Hinton - and shot a season-best 55.2 percent from the field overall. In the second half, URI scored 49 points as it steadily pulled away from Temple (4-3).
Hinton (25 points) and
Tyler Cochran (20 points) led an offense that reached 90 points for the second time this season.
