KINGSTON, R.I. - Head coach Jim Fleming, together with CAA Football, released the 2026 Rhode Island Football Schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
The Rams will play a 12-game schedule, with five games slated for Rhode Island's temporary home field, Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, R.I. and seven on the road.
Rhode Island will begin its quest for a third-straight conference title with four of its first five games on the road. Rhode Island opens the season at Merrimack (NEC) on Friday, Aug. 28. Then the Rams head to Philadelphia, Pa. for a matchup with FBS foe Temple (American) on Sept. 5.
The Rams then play three-straight CAA contests. First, the Rams welcome Elon to Centreville Bank Stadium for their home and CAA opener. Then Rhode Island heads to Stony Brook (Sept. 19) and North Carolina A&T (Sept. 26).
October begins with two games in three weeks against Ivy League competition. The annual Governor's Cup meeting between Rhode Island and Brown is on Oct. 3, the Rams are on their bye during the week of Oct. 10, then head on the road for a meeting at Yale. It will be the first meeting between Rhode Island and Yale.
Conference play continues after the week seven trip to Yale. Rhode Island then plays its final five games against CAA opponents and leaves the Ocean State once over the season's final five weeks. Rhode Island plays back-to-back home contests against UAlbany on Oct. 24 and Maine on Oct. 31. The Rams head to New Hampshire on Nov. 7, return home to host Towson on Nov. 14, and close the regular season at Bryant on Nov. 21.
The 2026 NCAA Division I Championship begins on Saturday, Nov. 28. The Rams are coming off of consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 1984 & 1985.
