RHODE ISLAND VS. MASSACHUSETTS - SERIES NOTES

• Rhode Island and Massachusetts are meeting for the 166th time.
• After Saturday's game, UMass will tie Brown for the most games against Rhode Island all time.
• This is the final conference game between the schools as members of the Atlantic 10.
• UMass holds a 56-27 edge as the home team in the series.
• Rhode Island has won two of the last three meetings, including an 88-62 victory this season on Jan. 29.
• In the first meeting this year, Rhode Island held on for the win. After URI led by as many as 21 points, UMass got the deficit down to two points with 1:12 to go on a Daniel Sanford-Hankins jump shot.
• The Rams were able to hit 6-of-8 at thee free throw line in the final minute to hold on for the win.

• Rhode Island and Massachusetts are two of the three teams tied for 10th place in the Atlantic 10 standings entering the weekend, along with Davidson.
• The Wildcats play at VCU Friday night.
• The winner of Saturday's URI-UMass game could potentially move up to as high as a tie for seventh place in the standings.
• Rhody and UMass are both a half game behind George Washington and St. Bonaventure for eighth place in the standings.
• The Bonnies are idle this weekend, while GW hosts La Salle Satuday.
• Duquesne enters the weekend alone in seventh place, one game ahead of URI and UMass.
• The Dukes host George Mason on Saturday afternoon.
• The top nine teams in the final standings avoid playing on the first day of the Atlantic 10 Championship.

GREEN SETS SIGHTS ON 1,000-POINT MILESTONE 

• After scoring 12 points in Wednesday's loss to Dayton, senior forward David Green has 952 career points, leaving him just 48 shy of 1,000.
• With three regular-season games and at least one Atlantic 10 Championship game remaining, Green needs to average 12.0 points per game the rest of the way to reach 1,000.
• He is averaging 14.3 points per game this year, putting him on pace to reach the milestone.
• In 43 career games with Rhode Island, Green has scored 613 points.
• He had 339 points in a combined 58 games at Hofstra and Louisiana Tech. 
• Green had a double-double Wednesday, adding 10 rebounds to go with the 12 points.
• It was his third double-double of the season.
