RHODE ISLAND VS. BRYANT - SERIES NOTES

  • The Rams and the Bulldogs will face one another for the 28th time in the teams' shared history on Tuesday afternoon.
  • Bryant has a 16-10-1 all-time advantage in the series, which dates back to the 2009 season.
  • The Bulldogs have built their edge over the past few years, winning five-straight games against URI.
  • Rhody's last win over Bryant was an 11-8 victory at home back in 2022.
  • Of the 17 games the Rams have played against Bryant at Bill Beck Field, URI narrowly trails with a 7-10 mark.
  • Since then, the Bulldogs have outscored their in-state foes, 49-30.
  • The teams are scheduled to play one another up in Smithfield on Tuesday, April 15.
  • Bryant is one of two Ocean State opponents that the Rams have on their schedule this season.
  • Rhode Island will play Brown twice, traveling to Providence on April 8 before hosting the Bears on April 23.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

  • Bryant enters Tuesday's game with a 4-7 record on the road.
  • The Bulldogs recently went 1-2 in a weekend series at Dayton. After dropping the first two games (7-1, 10-8), the team grabbed a 7-4 victory in the finale.
  • Bryant has played two midweek games so far in 2025, both against Merrimack. After playing to a 9-9 draw against the Warriors back on Feb. 26, the Bulldogs earned a resounding 11-1 win on March 4.
  • Junior catcher Brandyn Durand leads the offense with a .373 batting average. The Somerset, Mass. product has 15 RBI with four home runs.
  • Only two of Bryant's starters are batting above .300 through the first 13 games. As a squad, the Bulldogs are hitting .248.
  • As a pitching staff, the Bulldogs have a 5.14 ERA.

LAST TIME OUT: RAMS SWEEP COLONELS

  • For the first time since 2023, Rhode Island earned a road sweep over the weekend when it took down Eastern Kentucky in the Bluegrass State.
  • After a 15-3 win in eight innings on Friday, the Rams took both games of Sunday's doubleheader (9-3, 8-6) for the clean sweep.
  • It was URI's first non-conference road sweep since achieving the feat at Delaware State back in 2020.
  • That was the Rams' final weekend of the COVID-19 shortened campaign.
  • The Rhody offense batted .291 against the Colonels, led by senior Eric Genther's .538 average.
  • Genther was 7-for-13 with eight RBI, two doubles, a triple and a home run.
  • On the mound, junior Jeremy Urena, graduate student Trystan Levesque and freshman Jake Cullen were all awarded wins in their respective starts.
  • Sophomore Zach Morris also earned a save in game three, the first of his collegiate career.
