How it Happened
Rhode Island battled, but could not keep up with the Atlantic 10's leading offense, falling 18-8 at UMass Wednesday. 

Rhode Island scored four goals in the first half while the hosts built a 10-goal lead at the break (14-4). The Rams had a pair of goals from Caralie Basuel and a goal from Brinley Myers and Kate Cumins in the opening half.

UMass extended its lead to 12 (16-4) in the third quarter until the Rams connected on a score from Caralie Basuel. It was Rhody's lone goal of the period.

URI outscored the Minutewomen 3-2 in the fourth period, including the first career goal for Sydney MacDonald, but it wasn't enough as UMass cruised to its second straight A-10 win.
