How It Happened
Presbyterian College scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings as it steadily pulled away from Rhode Island for an 11-1 win in five innings on the final day of the Catamount Classic Sunday.
The Blue Hose (9-8) pounded out 11 hits over five innings. Leadoff hitter Baxleigh Arnette drove in four runs to lead the offense. PC's fourth and fifth batters – Blair Darby and Kendall Owens – combined for four hits, four runs scored and four RBI.
Rhode Island (2-8) left nine runners on base in five innings as it was unable to mount a response. The Rams had runners on base every inning – including loading the bases in the second and fourth innings – but an unearned run in the first was URI's only scoring.
