How it Happened
Rhode Island could not keep pace with Josie Lambert and Davidson, falling on the road 18-7 Saturday afternoon.
The Rams stayed close through the opening minutes of the second quarter.
Brinley Myers' second goal of the match pulled Rhody within 7-5 just two minutes into the second period, but it was all Wildcats from there.
Lambert – who had a match-high eight goals – scored five times after the Myers goal. Lambert's play helped Davidson outscore URI 11-2 over the final 39 minutes. Rhode Island was limited to one goal after halftime as the Wildcats steadily pulled away.
