Game 1 – Loyola Chicago 6, Rhode Island 1
A four-run first inning by Loyola Chicago (7-24, 2-5 A-10) proved too much for Rhode Island as the host Ramvblers took the opener of the doubleheader.

Loyola scored four times on three hits and one walk to build the early lead. Rhody (7-17, 2-5 A-10) got one back in the top of the fourth with an RBI double from Emily Power. That was all the Rams could muster off Loyola's Peyton Pepkowski, who hurled a complete game. Pepkowsi (3-16) dominated, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out seven batters.

Rhode Island (7-18, 2-6 A-10) continued to struggle offensively as it was blanked in the second game.

Loyola Chicago (8-24, 3-5 A-10) 6.1 innings of four-hit ball from starter Andie Broniewicz (5-6). She struck out three and walked just one while keeping the Rams off the scoreboard.

The Ramblers got the runs they needed in the bottom of the fourth. Haley Wallace led off the inning with a triple and came in on a sacrifice fly by Nat Lesnicki. Later in the frame, a bases-loaded walk by by Averi Vander Woude forced Bella Crimaldi in to make it 2-0.

Rhode Island got the potential tying runs in scoring position in the top of the seventh. Ella Morris reached on an error with one out, and Julianne Torres followed with an infield single. A groundout moved both into scoring position, but Noelle Sterner was retired on a sharp line drive to right field to end the game.
