How it Happened
An ace-worthy start by Trystan Levesque and an Anthony DePino grand slam sparked top-seeded Rhode Island to a 5-3 win over No. 4 Davidson Wednesday at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship.

Rhode Island trailed 3-0 entering the bottom of the fourth. Jack Hopko led off with a single and moved up on a groundout. He came around when Nic Notarangelo singled up the middle, giving URI its first run. With two outs, Nicholas Toro walked and Brody McKenzie was hit by an 0-2 pitch to load the bases for DePino. DePino launched a fastball to left field for a no-doubt grand slam, giving URI a 5-3 lead.

From there, Rhody starter Trystan Levesque (8-1) took care of business on the mound. The lefty allowed just one earned run while scattering six hits over 8.1 strong innings of work. From the sixth to the ninth innings, Levesque retired 10 straight batters.

After Davidson got a runner on with one down in the ninth, closer Joe Sabbath came on. He retired his first batter on a 4-6-3 double play to slam the door shut for his seventh save of the season.
