How it Happened
Rhode Island's season came to an end as the Rams could not keep up with Little Rock, falling 22-10 in an elimination game at the Baton Rouge Regional of the 2025 NCAA Baseball Championship Saturday.

URI was forced to play from behind throughout the game, as the Spartans jumped out early with a five-run second inning. Rhody responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame, thanks to a two-run homer by Nic Notarangelo and a run-scoring single by Brody McKenzie.

The lead was pushed back to five after Little Rock scored three times in the top of the fourth. Rhody responded again, using three singles, three walks and wild pitch to piece together a four-run rally. DJ Perron's two-run single drove in Jack Hopko and Eric Genther to pull URI within 8-7.

That was as close as the score got. Little Rock padded its lead with two runs in both the fifth and sixth and three runs in the seventh before icing the game with a seven-run ninth inning.
