KINGSTON, R.I. - Postseason honors continue to pour in for Rhode Island Baseball's
Anthony DePino, who was named an ABCA/Rawlings Second Team All-American on Friday morning.
The third baseman is the first Ram to land on the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Team since Chris Hess and Mike Corin (Third Team) did so in 2017. In total, Rhode Island has now placed seven different players on to American Baseball Coaches Association All-America squads throughout program history.
A Madison, Conn. product, DePino picks up the second All-America honors of his storied 2025 campaign, having earned Perfect Game Third Team recognition earlier this week. The senior also received All-Atlantic 10 First Team and All-Eastern College Athletic Conference acknowledgment, as well as First Team All-Northeast Region laurels from the ABCA/Rawlings.
In his final season suiting up for the Rams, DePino helped the team win both the Atlantic 10's regular season and conference tournament titles while boosting URI to a program-record 38 victories. By winning the Atlantic 10 Baseball Tournament, Rhode Island clinched the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship and subsequently played in the Baton Rouge Regional, hosted by No. 6 LSU.
The only player in Division I Baseball with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases (21-25), DePino was one of the most feared hitters in the nation this season. He checked into the country's top 20 in numerous offensive categories including runs scored (second, 85), walks (ninth, 57), total bases (16th, 165), home runs (20th, 20) and on-base percentage (20th, .505).
As a Ram, DePino sits at the top of the program record book in career runs scored (201), home runs (65), runs batted in (181), total bases (475), extra-base hits (118) and walks (153), while checking into many other career and single-season top-10 categories. In his final season, he started all 58 games he played in at the hot corner where he fielded .924 with 105 assists.
Only two Atlantic 10 programs placed players on to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Team. George Mason's outfielder James Quinn-Irons earned First Team recognition.
