How it Happened
Rhode Island scored ninety seconds into its match at Northeastern and didn't look back, cruising to its third straight victory over the Huskies Thursday.

Kaia Rice connected on a cross from Jill Rosenfeld and was able to beat Northeastern keeper Eliza Teplow. It was the first goal of the season for Rice, who scored twice a year ago.

The Rams held their lead going into the half, and after the break, limited the host Huskies to just one shot. Rhody keeper Dani Eden spent all 90:00 in goal, picking up her second shutout win of the season.

Inside the Box Score

  • The Rams had the advantage in shots (13-6) and shots on goal (8-2).
  • Sophomore Kaia Rice scored her first goal of the season. Jill Rosenfeld was credited with the assist for the second straight game. Last time out, Rosenfeld had an assist in the win at Maine.
  • Keeper Dani Eden made two saves, all in the first half. She did not face a shot in the second 45 minutes of play.
  • The win was the second win away from Kingston this season, doubling Rhody's road win total from a year ago when the Rams went 1-6-2 away from Kingston.
  • Rhody's last win in the series with the Huskies was August 31, 2003. Northeastern entered the game on a seven-game unbeaten streak against the Rams.
