How it Happened
Rhode Island struggled to generate offense as it lost 61-50 at George Mason Saturday evening.
The Rams (9-6, 0-2 Atlantic 10) shot just 35.8 percent (19-of-53) from the field. The 50 points were a season low, and the lowest output for URI since a 69-45 loss to Massachusetts on Feb. 18, 2023.
George Mason (14-1, 2-0 A-10) wasn't much better. However, after Rhode Island scored the first seven points of the second half to take a 36-35 lead, the host Patriots outscored URi 30-17 the rest of the way.
Stas Sivka was the lone George Mason player in double figures, finishing with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting. He entered the game averaging 1.5 points per game.
