How it Happened
Red-hot Rhode Island won its third straight Atlantic 10 match, dominating Davidson for a 3-1 victory Wednesday night at the URI Soccer Complex.

With the victory, Rhode Island has made its way to second place in the Atlantic 10 standings at the midway point of the conference schedule. Only Fordham, which scored in the final minute of its match against Saint Louis for a win Wednesday, is ahead of Rhody.

Lean Husterer got the party started with a goal in the 25th minute. Liam Kuemmritz delivered a corner kick to the foot of Husterer, who buried the shot from 6 yards out.

Just 11 minutes later, Luca Mueller caused a turnover in the 36th minute. Taking the ball from 18 yards out, he neatly placed a right-footed shot into the lower left corner, giving  Rhody a 2-0 lead.

Davidson trimmed the lead before halftime with a goal from Bijan Champagne. A corner kick from Charlie Fink found Champage to get the Wildcats on the scoreboard.

A early second-half goal from Everson Goglia put the game on ice for the Rams. With assists from Kuemmritz and Connor Froberg, Goglia scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season to cap off the victory.
