Gray Earns First A-10 Player of the Week Honor

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island senior Brooklyn Gray was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. It's the first conference weekly accolade of the year for Rhody's leading scorer. Gray shared the honor with Richmond's Maggie Doogan.

Gray put together a standout week to power the Rams to two more wins, pushing the program's streak to 17 straight victories as URI stays unbeaten in Atlantic 10 action (14-0) and 23-2 overall. Gray averaged 21.0 points and 8.5 rebounds across big wins over VCU (85-42) and George Mason (79-63), while shooting an efficient 51.9% from the field, 44.4% from three, and a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line. She added 2.5 assists per game with a strong 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.

She opened the week with 12 points and eight rebounds against VCU, knocking down four three-pointers en route to the victory. Gray then erupted for 30 points and nine rebounds at George Mason, matching her career high while going 10-for-17 from the floor and a perfect 10-for-10 at the charity stripe.

Gray and the Rams return to action Wednesday at La Salle. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
