KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island freshman Carson Dean was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. It's the second Rookie of the Week honor for the West Warwick, R.I. native, and the seventh time this season the Rams have collected a conference weekly accolade.

Dean led the way for Rhody at the Brown Invitational last Saturday, winning the pole vault using a clearance of 4.75 meters. The mark sits sixth in the A-10.

The Rams look to defend their indoor conference crown this weekend at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship, beginning Friday at 9:00 a.m.
