How it Happened
The trio of Darryl Simmons II, Cayden Charles and Frank Mitchell combined for 61 points to lead St. Bonaventure to a 94-76 win over Rhode Island Thursday.

The game was tight through the first 10 minutes, with two ties and two lead changes. After a
Tyler Cochran 3-pointer put Rhody (15-13, 6-9 Atlantic 10) ahead 21-20, St. Bonaventure went on a 10-0 run to build a nine-point advantage. The Bonnies (15-13, 4-11 A-10) got the lead up to 11 points after a Darryl Simmons II layup made the score 39-28 in the final minute of the half.
Myles Corey hit a layup just before the buzzer to get URI back within single at the break.
The hosts steadily built the lead early in the second half. St. Bonaventure made 10 of its first 15 field goal attempts of the second half as it built a 73-53 lead 12 minutes into the half. Rhode Island was never able to take any significant chunks out of the lead down the stretch, falling for the fourth time in five games.
