Rhody starter Brooke Gerry (0-7) did not allow a hit through the first three innings. Bella Stephens led the home half of the fourth off with a single, and Anna Christ walked. Kate Proffitt singled to drive in Stephens. An Ava Wombles single brought Christ in and put runners on the corners. Wombles stole second, and Proffitt scored when the throw to second got away. Wombles capped the scoring when she came in on a single by Anna Rolla.

Game 2 - Rhode Island 6, Saint Louis 4 (8 inn.)
Rhode Island rallied late and then held on in extra innings for the victory in the nightcap.

Becca Zawistowski hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to spark a three-run rally as the Rams rallied to win the second game. URI trailed 3-2 after five innings before rallying for the win. After Zawistowski's shot, Sydney Orndorff singled and Katie Knarr doubled. Rayah Snyder delivered a one-out single and Casey Miller followed with a sacrifice fly to help Rhody take a 6-3 lead.

Avery Vale-Cruz (4-3) pitched out of trouble in the bottom of the eighth. A walk, wild pitch and an RBI single by Anna Christ trimmed the URI lead to two and brought the potential tying run to the plate for Saint Louis. After a fly out, Vale-Cruz plunked Ava Wombles, putting the tying runs on base. Vale-Cruz induced a fielder's choice and a ground out to secure the complete-game win.

Rhody broke through in the top of the third with a pair of runs. With runners on the corners with two down, Julianne Torres doubled to the gap in left center, driving in Rayah Snyder. Kylie Bulinski was walked next, but ball four got away from the catcher, allowing Hernandez to score from third.

Saint Louis tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded and one out, Kate Proffitt hit a grounder to third. Riley Frickleton fielded the ball, stepped on third for a force out and threw on to first. Proffitt just beat the throw - which was upheld after a challenge - which allowed Abby Ulsas to score. Ava Wombles followed with a two-out single to drive in Allie Bransetter and knot the score.

An inning later, Abby Mallo gave the Billikens their first lead. With one out and Karsen Jany on second, Mallo shot a single through the right side of the infield for a run-scoring single.

Rhody managed to tie the score in the top of the sixth. One-out singles by Becca Zawistowksi, Sydney Orndorff and Katie Knarr loaded the bases. Riley Frickleton lofted a long fly down the left field line that was caught in foul territory, allowing pinch runner Mandi Hanewich to tag up and score, setting up extra innings.
