How it Happened
Rhode Island's pitching staff held Richmond's offense to just three hits as the Rams salvaged the weekend series with the Spiders taking Sunday's match up 2-1 on the road in Virginia.

Evan Maloney threw four innings limiting the Spiders to one run on two hits. The Rhode Island bullpen of Jake Cullen, AJ Jones, and Manny Santos threw the next five innings of one-hit ball and held Richmond to just four base runners the rest of the way shutting the door in the series' third game.

The Rams jumped on the board first in the top of the third inning. Jayden Tolentino reached base to start the inning after being hit by a pitch. Ryan Henschel moved Tolentino to second after a ground out to third base, setting up Scott Penney's RBI single to give Rhode Island the 1-0 lead.

Richmond's Aidan O'Keefe homered in the bottom of the third, but Rhode Island responded in the top of the fourth to retake the lead. Brian Connolly doubled to left field scoring Jack Hopko and giving Rhode Island a 2-1 lead, the eventual final score.
