RHODE ISLAND AT BROWN - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island continues its 2026 season with a three-game series at Brown. The weekend includes a doubleheader on Saturday and the series finale on Sunday all at Brown.
- Saturday's doubleheader will be the 171st and 172nd times the two programs have met.
- The first meeting between the programs was in 1908. The most recent meeting was last year in 2025. Brown leads the all-time series 82-85-2.
- Behind only Massachusetts (203), Brown is Rhode Island's second most-played opponent.
- Rhode Island has won its last four games against Brown, including two wins last season. The Rams defeated the Bears 16-6 in seven innings on April 16, 2025 in Providence and 12-4 on April 23, 2025 in Kingston.
- Rhode Island's last loss to Brown was on April 12, 2023. The Bears won 23-5 at Bill Beck Field.
- The teams are expected to meet one more time this season on Wednesday, April 29.
RHODE ISLAND AGAINST THE IVY LEAGUE
- Rhode Island is 100-105-2 against Ivy League competition.
- That record includes Rhode Island's 170 meetings with Brown.
- Outside of Rhode Island's history with Brown, the Rams are 18-19 against the rest of the Ivy League. The Rams have had meetings with Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, and Yale.
- Rhode Island's most recent meeting with an Ivy League school outside of Brown, is a doubleheader at Yale in 2015. The Rams and Bulldogs split the two-game set on Sunday, March 15, 2015.
- Despite having not played since 2007, Rhode Island's 26 games against Harvard is the second-most meetings against a Ivy League school in program history.
RHODE ISLAND HISTORIC WEATHER ADJUSTS RAMS FIRST MONTH OF SEASON
- The Rams were slated to play at in-state foe Bryant on Tuesday, March 24, however, the game was canceled after the Ocean State was blanketed in 3-feet of snow on Monday, Feb. 23.
- Rhode Island's home opener was scheduled for Tuesday, March 3 against Sacred Heart. That game was canceled due to the field conditions of Bill Beck Field after the blizzard.
- With the weekend series against Brown completely switching to Murray Stadium in Providence, R.I., the Rams are playing their fourth consecutive road weekend series to start the 2026 season.
- Rhode Island began its season with a four-game series at Jacksonville. Then continued with a three-game series at Alabama, before last weekend's three-game set at Kent State.
- Rhode Island is expected to play its next scheduled home game on Tuesday, March 10. The Rams welcome New Haven to Kingston for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
