How It Happened
A five-run second inning set the tone and Saint Joseph's was able to cruise to an 8-0 win over Rhode Island Saturday. The win gave the Hawks (8-9, 2-0 Atlantic 10) a doubleheader sweep for the day.

Rhode Island (3-5, 0-2 Atlantic 10) was limited to two hits by Taylor Trowbridge (3-2). Julianne Torres had a first-inning double and Meg McNally added a single in the second inning, but neither runner scored.

In the bottom of the second, Saint Joseph's got RBI singles from Meghan Sinkus and Elyssa Hasapis before Riley York broke the game open with a three-run home run.

Trowbridge allowed just two walks over the final 5.0 innings to record the shutout.
