RHODE ISLAND AT BRYANTÂ - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island is 11-18Â all time against Bryant.Â
- Wednesday's meeting between the Rams and Bulldogs is the third of three originally scheduled meetings between the programs during the 2026 season. The first meeting of the season was slated for Tuesday, Feb. 24 in Smithfield. However, due to poor weather the game was canceled.Â
- The Bulldogs visited Kingston on Wednesday, March 25.
- Rhode Island threatened in the sixth and eighth innings but ultimately fell short as Bryant beat the Rams 4-2 during the season's first meeting.
- Trailing 2-1 in the sixth of March's meeting, Rhode Island left the bases loaded. Then in the eighth, after Bryant plated two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 4-1 lead, the Rams managed to push one run across on a Jack Hopko infield single that scored Ryan Henschel. After the Hopko single, the next two Rams were retired, helping Bryant escape the inning with a two-run lead.
- The Rams managed to bring the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth after Ryan Thompson started the inning with a lead off walk but Bryant then retired the next three batters to leave Kingston with the win.
- The first meeting between the teams was in 2009.
- Prior to this season's first meeting, the most recent meeting between the Rams and Bulldogs was on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The game was played in Kingston with the Rams winning 7-1.Â
- The Bulldogs evened the 2025 series on Tuesday, April 15 in Smithfield. Bryant won 7-4.
RHODE ISLAND VS. MERRIMACK - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island and Merrimack have only met one time in each program's respective history.Â
- The meeting came on March 23, 2022 at Bill Beck Field in Kingston, R.I. with Merrimack beating Rhode Island 6-2.
- The game featured 17 putouts from Rhode Island infielder Anthony DePino. That is tied for the seventh-most putouts in a single game in Rhode Island history.Â
- Current Rhode Island assistant and former Rams pitcher Bo Brutti threw a scoreless sixth inning against Merrimack in 2022.Â
