How it Happened
Ryan Thompson's seventh inning two-run home run and eighth inning two-run double helped lift Rhode Island over Bryant 10-9 in Smithfield on Tuesday afternoon.

Trailing 7-6 in the top of the seventh with one out and Jack Hopko on first base, Thompson homered to center field helping give Rhode Island an 8-7 advantage.

After Bryant tied the game up in the bottom of the seventh, Thompson again came through for the Rams with two outs and the bases loaded. Thompson doubled down the right field line scoring both Ryan King and Scott Penney to give the Rhode Island a 10-8 lead.

The Bulldogs added one run in the eighth and threatened in the ninth. Bryant's Casey Wensley singled with two outs in the ninth, advanced to second on a Rhode Island error, and eventually stole third base. With the tying run on third, Tommy Turner struck out the final Bryant batter to secure a save and the Rhode victory.
