How it Happened
Rhode Island dropped the second game of its weekend series at Saint Louis 11-7 on Saturday afternoon in St. Louis, Mo. The Billikens took a 4-0 lead on the Rams through the first four innings of the game that helped pave the way to the victory for the home team.

Trailing 9-2 heading into the seventh, Rhode Island pieced together its best offensive inning. The Rams plated three runs, first from a Scott Penney double that score Ryan Henschel. Then Ryan Thompson then singled in Penney. Thompson later scored on a Ryan King fly out to left field.

In the ninth, trailing 11-6, Rhode Island made a push with two runs thanks to an RBI fielder's choice from Jack Hopko followed by Jayden Tolentino getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The Rams scored twice in the ninth but with two outs and the bases loaded, left the tying run at the plate setting up Sunday's rubber match.
