Rhode Island Women's Track & Field sent a partial squad to Cambridge, Mass. for MIT's Final Qualifier event. The meet serves as the final opportunity an athlete can achieve a qualifying mark for the NCAA East Preliminary, which is held May 27 to 30 at the University of Kentucky. Competing for the Rams were various field performers in the hammer, discus, shot put, and long jump.
Highlights
- Alyssa Yankee finished second in the discus with the throw of 163' 8". She held the best Rhode Island throw of the meet.
- Mae Gall was the second best Ram in the discus with a mark of 138' 5".
- Elizabeth Dankwa had a throw of 117' 11". Dankwa also threw in the shot put, finishing with a mark of 36' 1.25".
- Rhode Island's had two participants in the hammer. Madison Boucher came in fourth place with a toss of 159' 8". Yankee finished in sixth with a mark of 158'.
