KINGSTON, R.I. - Four Rhode Island Football players garnered Preseason All-American honors from Stats Perform, as announced by the organization on Monday.
Wide receiver
Marquis Buchanan was named to the First Team, linebacker
Rohan Davy earned a Second Team nod, and center
Tre Alexander and defensive lineman
Case Mankins landed spots on the Third Team.
Buchanan took home First Team All-American honors in 2025 and Second Team honors in 2024. His 2025 totals included 78 catches and an FCS Football leading 1,337 receiving yards. Heading into 2026, Buchanan's 3,099 career receiving yards is third-most in team history. Over the last three seasons, Buchanan has notched 202 receptions. That's the third-most in program history trailing only Forster (284) and Aaron Parker (216). The Providence, R.I. native added a team-high eight receiving touchdowns.
A Second Team All-CAA Football honoree last season, Davy has become one of the premiere linebackers in the CAA and across FCS Football. He was second on the team in tackles (101), tackles for loss (13), and sacks (7) last season and started all 14 games for the Rams. Last season, Davy impressed with a career-high 12 tackles at FBS Western Michigan on Sept. 27.
Alexander has started the last 16 games for Rhode Island and has anchored the Rams offensive line at center. He earned postseason recognition as a Second Team All-CAA Football selection. The Tampa, Fla. native helped the Rams accrue the second-most yards of offense in program history last season totaling 6,018. With Alexander leading the way, running back
Antwain Littleton, Jr. to rushed for 1,243 yards, the fourth-most in a single season in program history.
With just 24 tackles in 2024, Mankins has doubled his production in 2025. He finished the season with 55 tackles, five tackles for loss, and four sacks. The North Attleboro, Mass. native's best game of the season was at UAlbany where he recorded his first career game with two sacks. He earned Third Team All-CAA Football for his performance in 2025.
Rhode Island Football is gearing up for the 2026 season, with camp starting in the next few weeks. The Rams will officially begin the season with a Friday night game at Merrimack on Aug. 28.
