Slowey Announces Nikki Prestiano as Assistant Coach

KINGSTON, R.I. — Rhode Island women's lacrosse head coach Jenna Slowey announced the addition of Nikki Prestiano to the staff as an assistant coach. Prestiano spent the last seven seasons at Lafayette following a decorated playing career as a goalkeeper at Manhattan. "We are thrilled to welcome Nikki to our staff," said Slowey. "Her energy and passion are palpable. Combined with her extensive experience coaching in a competitive conference, I know she will make a tremendous impact here in the Ocean State."

Prestiano joined the Lafayette staff as an assistant coach before being elevated to associate head coach for the last two seasons. A season ago, she helped guide the Leopards to a 4-1 start in non-conference play and a 3-0 mark at home. Lafayette also posted a 3.61 team grade-point average through the fall semester, with five players earning a 4.0.

Prior to beginning her coaching career, Prestiano spent four seasons in goal at Manhattan. She was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week four times and served as a team captain during her senior season.

Prestiano earned a master's degree in organizational leadership from Manhattan in May 2021.
