How it Happened
The Rams were the first to break through on a long throw-in from Cassidy Tanddo that bounced to the feet of Maksim Kalina, who slotted it home from inside the six-yard box.

Rhody had possession for most of the first half and pressured the Blue Devils' defense but couldn't add to their advantage, taking the 1-0 lead into the break.

Less than five minutes into the second half, Theo Harris took advantage of a misplay out of the back by CCSU and powered a shot into the lower left corner to double the Rams' lead.

The Blue Devils got a goal in the 62nd minute when Santiago Marin Gutierrez sent a shot from distance into the roof of the net.

Each team had some chances down the stretch, but Rhode Island leaned on their keeper William Synnestvedt to shut the door over the last 28 minutes to secure the road win.

  • With the victory, Head Coach Gareth Elliott earned win number 150 in his career.
  • Kalina's goal was the first in his collegiate career, in his 15th game played.
  • Harris now has three goals on the season, moving him into a tie for fourth among the leading goal scorers in the A10.
  • Goalkeeper William Synnestvedt made six saves for the third straight game, matching his career high.
  • Lou Forster made his first start of the season and just the second in his career.
  • Tim Huhnholz made his season debut. The defender started and played all 90 minutes in defense. 
  • Despite the loss, CCSU outshot the Rams 17-13 and 6-5 on goal.
  • Brett Schwab (URI) and Trevor Rau (CCSU) were both issued yellow cards.
