Temple Holds Down Rhode Island, 38-14

How it Happened
No. 6/8 Rhode Island got going quickly when third year quarterback Tyler Budge hit Marquis Buchanan for a 35-yard strike for a touchdown on the Rams first possession, after Temple scored on the opening drive.

The Owls went ahead with ten straight points behind a second drive field goal and then a tipped ball defensively that safety Jamarcus Pierre secured for the interception and returned it 25 yards for a score.

The teams traded scores in the final drives of the half. After Tyler Budge dove into the end zone at the goal line, capping off a nice 14 play, 75-yard drive, Temple punched it in with just 16 seconds to go in the half to reestablish the 10-point lead.

Temple added to their score in the third, with a three-yard rush by Keveun Mason capping off a 17 play, 82-yard drive including two conversions on fourth down. The Rams were unable to get back into the game with some great pressure from the Owls defensively and two more turnovers forced. The Owls closed the game with 21 unanswered points.
