RHODE ISLAND VS. PROVIDENCE - DERBY SERIES NOTES

• This is the 54th meeting all time between Rhode Island and Providence.
• Rhode Island is 32-15-6 against Providence.
• The Friars are Rhody's third most commonly faced opponent behind UMass who the Rams have played 66 times and Brown, with 61 matches against.
• PC won the most recent matchup, last September 3-1 in Kingston. Daniel Goba was the lone goal scorer for the Rams.
• URI's last victory in the series was a 1-0 win in Providence on Sept. 9 2024. Now alumnus, Patrick Gryczewski picked up the game winner for Rhody.
• Providence has secured at least a tie in five of the last six meetings dating back to 2021.

RHODY HITS THE ROAD

• Monday's match is the first of five straight road games for the Rams this season.
• This stretch is tied for the second longest road game stretch for all NCAA D1 men's soccer programs.
• Only Chicago State and Winthrop have a longer away stretch with six straight road games.
• Rhody will take on Central Connecticut State, and Brown before beginning A10 play against Duquesne, followed by a trip to Stony Brook.
• The Rams return to Kingston on September 26th to take on St. Joe's leaving 24 days in between home games.

HUSTERER BOLSTERS THE BACKLINE

• Frankfurt, Germany native Lean Husterer has joined the squad as of August 25th.
• Husterer is in his first season of eligibility and most recently played for the Eintracht Frankfurt U19 team, a youth squad of the parent German 1st-tier league club.
• Husterer played over 1,100 minutes in 27 matches and added 2 goals in the 2025-26 season with Eintracht Frankfurt.
• The right-footed defender adds some great depth at the center-back position alongside, Maksim Kalina, Brett Schwab and Collin Martin.
• In his first start with the Rams, the defense gave up just one shot in the first half and one goal against Holy Cross on Aug. 29 to secure the first victory of the season.
