2021 (Redshirt Junior)

• Finished the year with a 1-1 record and a 7.36 ERA.
• Struck out 27 over 25.2 innings of work.

2020 (Redshirt Sophomore)

• Season was canceled after just 13 games due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Was 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA in three starts.
• Recorded 12 strikeouts over 10.0 innings pitched.
• Did not have any plate appearances.

2019 (Redshirt Freshman)

• Made 15 pitching appearances, nine of which were starts. 
• Went 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA over 55.1 innings.
• Recorded 56 strikeouts with just 11 walks.
• Also hit .222 for the Rams, going 8-for-36 at the plate.
• Four of his eight hits were for extra bases as he had three doubles and one home run.
• Drove in five runs and scored four of his own.

Before URI

• Was a member of the baseball and golf teams at North Stafford High School. 
• Received three varsity letters in baseball and one varsity letter in golf. 
• Played for the Richmond Braves National baseball team.
• Was a three-year starter in high school.
• Captained his high school baseball team for two years.
• Received All Conference, All Region and All Freelance Star accolades.
• During his sophomore and senior seasons, his high school team made it to the regional semi-final. 

Personal

• Born February 15, 1999. 
• Son of Christopher Cherry and Sandra Gardella-Cherry.
• Has one older sister, Maggie, who attends the University of Virginia. 
• His dad, Christopher, played baseball at Westfield State. 
• Enjoys spikeball, surfing and fishing.
• Favorite athlete is Bo Jackson.
• Favorite teams are the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics.
