Zach Scarberry

Zach Scarberry enters his second year as Rhody Baseball's director of baseball operations in 2017-18.

Prior to coming to URI, Scarberry spent four seasons with the University of Cincinnati baseball program as a student manager and video coordinator. He assisted with operations on a day to day basis, ensuring team travel arrangements and meals were taken care of. Scarberry also provided facility and campus tours for incoming recruits when they come to campus for official visits and was in charge of dispersing team apparel and equipment to student athletes.

While at Cincinnati, Scarberry also worked in athletics operations, teaming with the facilities staff to set up and manage events across campus. He was directly in charge of Marge Schott Stadium (Baseball Facility), ensuring all tournaments and showcase events ran efficiently. Scarberry handled scoreboard and music operations, event set up and breakdown, as well as facility tours.

Scarberry spent the 2016 season with the Ocean State Waves of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. He worked directly with the general manager and assistant general manager to handle equipment needs, gym memberships, meal plans and game-day schedules. He also managed hitting and defensive charts and field preparation and management of the team’s home facility, Old Moutain Field.

Scarberry earned his bachelor’s degree in sports administration from the University of Cincinnati in 2016.
