2016 (Senior)

  • Went 6-7 on the mound as a senior, finishing the season with a 4.00 ERA and 78 strikeouts over 96.2 innings pitched.
  • Was outstanding in a 1-0 loss at Maryland, allowing just one unearned run on four hits in a complete-game, eight inning effort. Finished with five strikeouts opposite two walks (Feb. 26).
  • Picked up his first win of the season at Towson, striking out seven and allowing just four hits and one walk over a five-inning start (March 20). 
  • Allowed just one run on two hits over a seven-inning start at George Mason... Also recorded eight strikeouts, but got a no-decision (March 26).
  • Turned in his third quality start of the season in a win over VCU... Struck out five and allowed just two earned runs over eight innings (April 9).
  • Picked up his third win of the year against St. Bonaventure, allowing only three hits and needing just 97 pitches to finish off his second complete game. 
  • Tossed six shutout innings and striking out five with no walks in a win at Saint Joseph's... Became Rhode Island's all-time leader in innings pitched, finishing the day with 283.0 career innings (April 30).
  • Went 8.0 innings in a no-decision start against Dayton on May 7... Allowed three runs (all earned) on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk... Defensively, he recorded a career-high seven assists on the afternoon - the most by any NCAA Division I pitcher in 2016.
  • Picked up his fifth win of the season at La Salle (May 20), allowing just two earned runs over seven innings while striking out a pair.
  • Earned his sixth win of the year in a A-10 Championship victory over Davidson... Tossed seven innings and only allowing four runs while striking out five.
  • Final appearance of his career came against #21 UNCW in an NCAA Regional loss in Columbia, S.C.

2015 (Junior)

  • Made 15 appearances - 12 of which were starts.
  • Finished the season with a 3.75 ERA and a 4-4 record with one save.
  • Recorded 62 strikeouts while issuing just 28 walks.
  • Earned the start in URI's season opener at No. 2 Florida (Feb. 13)... Struck out four and allowed just two earned runs over four innings against the second-ranked Gators.
  • Scattered five hits and allowed just one earned run in a 7.0-inning start against Sacred Heart (March 28).
  • Struck out seven and walked none over 5.1 innings, en route to earning his first win of the season vs. Saint Joseph's (April 10).
  • Earned the win his next time out at Richmond, allowing two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts (April 17).
  • Made his first relief appearance of the season at VCU (April 25), closing out Rhody's 6-3 win to earn the save.
  • Combined for 22 strikeouts with just two walks over his next three starts (19.2 innings) against George Washington (May 3), Massachusetts (May 10) and La Salle (May 16).
  • Earned his third and fourth wins against the Minutemen and Explorers.
  • Turned in his best performance of the season in a 2-1 win over Richmond at the Atlantic 10 Championship; tossed a season-high 8.1 innings and allowed just one run on five hits while recording four 1-2-3 innings.
  • Two days after throwing 119 pitches in the no-decision start against Richmond, he recorded two outs in a relief appearance against VCU. 
  • Was named to the A-10 All-Championship team after allowing just one run over 9.0 innings and holding the opposition to a .169 batting average.

2014 (Sophomore)

  • Was named to College Sports Madness' Preseason All-Conference Team.
  • Also was listed as one of the Atlantic 10's top starting pitchers in College Baseball Insider's preseason poll.
  • Finished his sophomore campaign ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in both WHIP (1.03) and hits allowed per nine innings (7.21).
  • Did not get much run support - URI was shutout in three of his starts and averaged just three runs per game in his 13 appearances.
  • Posted a 2-5 record and a 2.30 ERA.
  • Finished with 60 strikeouts opposite 19 walks.
  • Had eight quality starts, six of which came in A-10 play.
  • His 0.98 WHIP and 1.69 ERA in A-10 games was tops among all pitchers with 45+ IP.
  • Was named A-10 Pitcher of the Week on April 28.
  • Allowed just one run on four hits over six innings at the College of Charleston (Feb. 22).
  • Tossed two innings of no-hit ball against UMass Lowell (March 11).
  • Gave up just two runs on three hits over eight innings of work at USF (March 15).
  • Allowed just one earned run in three consecutive conference starts against Saint Louis (March 22), Fordham (April 5), and George Mason (April 20).
  • Followed with a complete-game, three-hit shutout win over VCU for his first win of the season (April 27).
  • Picked up his second win the next time out, striking out seven and allowing just two runs (one earned) at St. Bonaventure (May 4).
  • Struck out a career-best 10 hitters in 8.1 innings vs. Richmond (May 16).

2013 (Freshman)

  • Was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection after posting a 4-1 record with one save and finishing the year with a 1.78 ERA – tops in the Atlantic 10 and fifth-best among all Division I freshman (26th overall).
  • In conference games, he posted a minuscule 1.37 ERA while holding hitters to a .163 average.
  • Overall, allowed just five earned runs in his last 38.2 innings pitched and wrapped up his freshman season ranked fourth in the nation with 5.49 hits allowed per nine innings pitched.
  • Made his first career start at Winthrop (March 17) and allowed just one hit - to the first batter he faced - over seven shutout innings.
  • After that, he went on to retire 19 consecutive batters until issuing his first and only walk of the day in the bottom of the seventh.
  • Finished with six K's over seven innings.
  • Tossed four innings of shutout relief for his first career save against UMass on April 7.
  • Did not allow a hit over 2.2 innings of work at Fordham on April 14.
  • Allowed five hits, walked one and struck out eight in a 7.0-inning, no-decision start against Temple on April 21.
  • Scattered just five hits and walked none over 8.2 innings of two-hit ball at Xavier on April 27.
  • Earned the win against St. Bonaventure on May 5, striking out six batters and allowing just four hits over seven shutout innings.
  • Took a no-hitter into the bottom of the fifth at Butler on May 12, retiring 13 of the first 14 batters he faced and giving up just one run on two hits over five innings.
  • Was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on May 15.
  • Earned the start against George Washington at the Atlantic 10 Championship and allowed just three hits and one run over 4.1 innings before the game was suspended in the bottom of the fifth.

High School

  • Was a member of the baseball, golf and soccer teams at East Longmeadow High School.
  • Captained the baseball and golf teams.
  • Earned All-Western Massachusetts and All-State honors all four years.
  • Was a two-time Pitcher of the Year.
  • Turned in a 7-0 record and a 0.00 ERA over 51 innings pitched his freshman year.
  • Helped lead his team to four consecutive league championships.
  • Also volunteered with the Special Olympics.

  • Son of Lisa and Bruce Moyers, who played soccer at Westfield State.
  • Has a younger sister, Brianna.
  • Enjoys fishing and golfing… Favorite athlete is John Lester.
  • Favorite teams are the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Bruins.
  • Majoring in Sociology.
