Brandon Holt joined the Rhode Island Football staff as a defensive assistant for the 2024 season, helping the Rams win their first-ever CAA Football title. Holt works with the team's secondary, assisting in the coaching of the corner backs and the safeties.Â
He previously served as a graduate assistant at Shippensburg University, where he worked primarily with the defensive backs. In his role, the New Jersey native helped to develop and mentor the defensive unit while assistant with practice plan design. He was responsible for all film breakdown and had additional responsibilities related to the team's social media initiatives.
Before stepping into his Graduate Assistant position, Holt had a successful playing career for Shippensburg. He served as a team captain and was a two-year starter in the Raiders' defensive backfield.Â
In 2023, Holt totaled 27 tackles and one interception in nine contests, and was among the team leaders in pass breakups with six.

He appeared in 11 games for the Raiders as a junior, accumulating 46 tackles, including 33 solo, five pass breakups and two interceptions. One of those interceptions he returned 99 yards for a touchdown.

Prior to Shippensburg, Holt played two seasons at Pace University, where he was named an All-NE-10 defensive back as a freshman and twice named to the NE-10 Academic Honor Roll.
