Chris Satoh enters his sixth season at Rhode Island in 2021. He joined the Rhode Island staff as the Video Coordinator and Assistant Director of Operations in March of 2017 and was promoted to Defensive Assistant in March of 2018.

Satoh came to Jim Fleming's staff after spending three seasons as the defensive backs coach and video coordinator for Division III La Verne. While there, he oversaw the development of the team's cornerbacks and safeties while also directing the scout team offense. In 2013, he coached a secondary unit that forced 21 turnovers in nine games. Satoh also was involved with recruiting and opponent scouting.

Before going to La Verne, Satoh was the defensive coordinator at La Salle High School in Pasadena, Calif. for the 2011 season. He also coached the team's defensive backs, wide receivers and special teams units. 

Satoh earned his undergraduate degree in history from Lake Forest (Illinois) in 2011. He played and served as student assistant coach for Lake Forest football team during his undergraduate days. He earned his master's degree in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne in 2014. Satoh also served in the United States Marine Corps as a Tank Platoon Commander from 2015-2019.
