Jordan Koehler joined the Rhode Island coaching staff as a defensive assistant in March of 2017.

Koehler came to the Rams after three-plus seasons on the staff at Division III Anna Maria College. He was the team’s defensive coordinator and academic coordinator in 2016. In his first two seasons there, Koehler was the linebackers coach and strength and conditioning coach.

This is the second stint for Koehler with Rhode Island’s athletics department. From May 2013 through August 2013, he was a full-time intern with the strength and conditioning staff. During that time, he oversaw offseason summer workouts with the football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball programs. He also spent time as an intern with the College of Holy Cross football team, overseeing off-season workouts from January 2013 through April 2013.

A four-year starter at linebacker for Anna Maria, Koehler graduated as the program’s all-time leader in tackles with 342 and was second in program history with 29.5 tackles for loss. He was a three-time Eastern Collegiate Football All-Conference selection and a four-time Worcester All-Star Team honoree.

Koehler earned his bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Anna Maria in 2014 and his master’s degree in special education in 2016.
