Andrew Chrabascz

Andrew Chrabascz joined the Rhode Island basketball staff as a graduate assistant in June of 2022.

A four-year starter at Butler from 2013-17, Chrabascz led the Bulldogs to three consecutive NCAA Championship appearances from 2015-17. After reaching the Round of 32 in 2015 and 2016, Chrabascz and the Bulldogs made a run to the Sweet 16 in 2017. During his time at Butler, the team had a combined record of 84-48.

A native of Portsmouth, R.I., Chrabascz was a 1,000-point scorer for Butler, finishing his career with 1,271 points, 493 rebounds, 254 assists, 99 steals and 47 blocked shots. He earned First Team All-BIG EAST honors as a senior and was a member of the league’s all-rookie team as a freshman.

Following his collegiate career, Chrabascz played professionally overseas for three seasons. He spent two seasons in Belgium, playing for Crelan Okapi Aalstar in 2017-18 and Belfius Mons-Hainaut the following season. In 2019-20, he was in Poland with WKS Slask Wroclaw before the season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his prep career at Cushing Academy and Portsmouth High, he scored 2,268 points. A three-year starter at Cushing Academy, he led the team to the New England Prep School Athletic Council AA championship in 2013.

Before coming to Kingston, Chrabascz also worked as a strength and conditioning coach with Island Athletics. He completed a bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Butler in 2017.
