Sydney Armand

Rhode Island head coach David Cox announced that Sydney Armand has been named as the men's basketball video coordinator on Sept. 26, 2019.

Armand spent the 2018-19 season working as the special assistant to the program's director of basketball operations. Since 2015, he has worked with Rhode Island basketball on both the men's and women's side of the ledger.

As a team manager in the 2018-19 season, Armand assisted with player development workouts consisting of ball handling drills, shooting and in-game situational work. In addition, Armand has assisted with team operations, handling travel reservations, budgeting and other related responsibilities. He served as a liaison between the student-athletes and coaching staff and also assisted with scouting film breakdown.

Before working with the men's program, Armand spent two seasons as an undergraduate student working as the head manager for the URI women's basketball team. He also spent a season as the head coach for the Rhode Island Magic AAU 15u team and spent two years working with Revo Sports, developing the skills of highly-ranked high school players, primarily from Team New England of the AAU Adidas circuit.

A Hyde Park, Mass. native, Armand graduated from URI with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in French.
