  • Set a Rhode Island record for points in a road game when he scored 41 at Saint Joseph's in an 86-85 overtime win.
  • Russell was named the CBS Sports College Basketball National Player of the Week for his performance at Saint Joseph's.
  • Also earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors for the week of March 11 after averaging 34.0 points, 4.5 steals, 4.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds in wins over Saint Joseph's and Massachusetts.

2017-18 (freshman)

  • Appeared off the bench in all 34 games as freshman, averaging 18.0 minutes per game.
  • Finished the season with 237 points (7.0 per game).
  • Ranked second on the team in free-throw percentage (.810) and was third overall in 3-pointers made (39).
  • Also dished out 53 assists and added 27 steals.
  • Was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Dec. 4.

At Imhotep Charter

  • Finished his career as Imhotep Charter’s all-time leader in points (1,813), assists, and steals.
  • As a senior, helped lead the Panthers to the Philadelphia Public League and City titles before capturing the PIAA 4A State Championship, scoring a team-high 25 points in the victory over Strong Vincent.
  • Starting point guard for head coach Andre Noble’s squad that finished the 2016-17 season with a 31-2 record.
  • Team was ranked No. 3 by MaxPreps and No. 5 by USA Today.
  • Earned Philadelphia Public League and Pennsylvania Class 4A Player of the Year honors.
  • Honorable mention All-America selection by MaxPreps.
  • Was named MVP of the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, Montverde Invitational in Florida, Philadelphia Public League Championship, and the Donofrio Classic.
  • Also was one of 10 finalists for the Mr. Basketball award in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Posted a double-double with 13 points, 10 assists and zero turnovers in the Jordan Brand Classic Regional Game at the Barclays Center.
  • Also was a first team All-State selection as a junior.

  • Has been called "Fatts" his whole life; nickname was given to him by his mother, because he was a chubby baby.
  • Son of Terri Sutton and stepson of Tahar Sutton.
  • Has two brothers, DeWayne and Dejuan, and one sister, Taahira.
  • His brother DeWayne played collegiately at Grand Canyon University.
  • Favorite NBA player is Kobe Bryant and favorite NBA team is the Los Angeles Lakers.
