KINGSTON, R.I. - KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island volleyball squad rolled past Virginia Tech, 3-0, Saturday to sweep the last weekend of regular-season play.

The 3-0 (15-9, 15-6, 15-9) win over the visiting Hokies brought the Rams to 18-8 on the year, 13-5 in league play. Virginia Tech fell to 9-19, 8-10 with the loss.

Christie Wilson led the Ram attack with 16 kills, while Cheri Melson was the defensive leader on the night with 10 digs and five blocks. Freshman setter Julia Schlect finished with a team-high 36 assists.

The Rams are set to travel to Philadelphia for the Bell Atlantic Atlantic 10 Tournament this Friday.
