Men's Basketball Falls To St. Joseph's, 82-67

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Marvin O'Connor had 21 points and Na'im Crenshaw added 17 as St. Joseph's defeated Rhode Island 82-67 Wednesday night.

Bill Phillips had 13 points and career highs with 18 rebounds and six assists and Damian Reid added 10 points and 10 rebounds for St. Joseph's (15-4, 6-1 Atlantic 10), which reached the 15-win mark faster than any season since 1964-65. The Hawks had 22 assists on 27 field goals in the game, with Jameer Nelson leading with seven.

Zach Marbury had 24 points, including 10-of-11 from the foul line, and Leroy Womack added 13 for the Rams (4-15, 0-6), who have lost seven in a row and eight of their last nine.

Rhode Island cut the Hawks' lead to 36-29 with 16:43 left in the second half, but St. Joseph's then went on a 22-6 run, paced by Crenshaw's 10 during the spurt.

The Hawks scored 16 of the last 23 points of the first half to take a 32-19 advantage at halftime. O'Connor had 13 points in the half for St. Joseph's.
