RHODE ISLAND VS. DUQUESNE - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island and Duquesne will meet for the 70th time overall and the third time this season.
- The Rams lead the all-time series, 37-32. Rhody won the most recent meeting in the final week of the regular season, which snapped a four-game losing streak against the Dukes.
- The teams split the two previous meetings this season, with both teams winning at home. Duquesne won 76-61 on Feb. 1, and Rhode Island scored a 64-52 victory on March 4.
- Thursday will be the fifth time Rhode Island and Duquesne meet in the Atlantic 10 Championship. Each side has won twice, with Duquesne winning matchups in 1995 and 2009. URI won in 2003 and 2022.
- Rhody's 79-77 win over Duquesne in the opening round of the 2022 tournament was the program's last victory in the conference tournament.
- The Rams are looking to snap a four-game losing streak at the A-10 championship.
- The winner of Thursday's game will play No. 2 VCU in the quarterfinals on Friday at 5 pm.
RHODE ISLAND AT THE ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIPÂ
- Rhode Island is 30-39 all time at the Atlantic 10 Championship.
- The Rams have reached the semifinals 15 times and have been to the championship game seven times.
- Rhody won the tournament twice, winning the title in 1999 and again in 2017.
- URI has lost its opening game each of the last four seasons.
- The Rams are 1-5 at A-10s since the 2020 tournament was canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- From 2017-19 URI was a combined 7-2 at the tournament, winning multiple games in all three years.Â
- Rhody made back-to-back finals appearances in 2017 and 2018.Â
