Men's Basketball Falls To St. Bonaventure, 96-74

OLEAN, N.Y. (AP) - J.R. Bremer scored a career-high 35 points and St. Bonaventure used a 25-3 second-half run to defeat Rhode Island 96-74 and spoil Jim Baron's return to the Reilly Center, where he coached the Bonnies for nine years before leaving after last season to coach Rhode Island.

The Bonnies (9-4) went on the run with 16:34 left in the game and led the Rams (4-8) 83-51 with 9:51 remaining.

Mike Gansey scored a career-high 20 points and made 5-of-7 3-pointers for the Bonnies. Overall, the Bonnies made 15-of-33 3-pointers, including 9-of-15 in the first half. Marques Green added a career-high 11 assists.

Bremer had 29 of his points in the first half on 9-of-12 shooting, including five 3-pointers. St. Bonaventure led 54-39 at halftime after going on an 8-0 run with 5:55 remaining.

Rhode Island went on a 9-2 run with 18:30 remaining in the game to cut the margin to 58-48 before the Bonnies went on their game-clinching run.

Dinno Daniels finished with a career-high 22 points for the Rams.
