Sophomore Kaleena Miller (Mahopac, N.Y.) notched her 13th double-double of the season and reached double figures for the 20th-straight match with 12 kills and 15 digs as the Rhode Island women's volleyball team defeated La Salle 3-0 Saturday night in Keaney Gymnasium.
The Rams won by scores of 30-19, 30-22, 30-21 to improve to 8-14, 4-5 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Sophomore Abby Thornbladh (Ann Arbor, Mich.) had 11 kills, one solo block and four block-assists. Junior Michelle Fulton (Dana Point, Calif.) had 10 kills and six block-assists, hitting a career-high .667 for the match.
Senior setter Juliana Valencia (Cali, Columbia) dished out 42 assists, nine digs and four block-assists. Junior Amy Kauppila (Spokane, Wash.) had 12 digs and four kills. Junior Mary Kate Reardon (Bellmore, N.Y.) had six kills and 10 digs, and sophomore Brooke Ecklund (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) added six kills.
Lindsey Viehmann led La Salle (9-17, 0-10 Atlantic 10) with 10 kills and Lauren Woods added nine. Meredith Marakovits chipped in with 11 digs.
Rhode Island returns to action Saturday when the Rams travel to Fordham for a 4 p.m. match. Rhode Island's next home match is Nov. 8 against Dayton at 7 p.m.
