Captain Heidi Westerling Places 27th As The Rams Take 13th At NCAA Northeast Regional

BRONX, N.Y. - Captain Heidi Westerling (Charlestown, N.H.) took 27th place at the NCAA Regionals with a time of 21:55 as the team took 13th with a total of 386 points. Westerling also recorded the fastest time by a Rhode Island athlete at Van Cortland Park.

Co-captain Cindy Smith (Miller Place, N.Y.) crossed the line at 25:05 for 82nd place and was the second Ram finisher.

Junior Linsday Vieira (North Kingstown, R.I.) placed 89th in a time of 23:11 while Emily Anderson (Westerly, R.I.) took 96th place in a time of 23:21.

Katherine Guilfoyle (Mount Sinai, N.Y.), Megan O'Shea (Miller Place, N.Y.) and Jamie Sweeney (Saratoga, N.Y.) rounded out the Rhody finishers with times of 23:23, 24:04 and 24:59 respectively.
