The University of Rhode Island volleyball team defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 3-0 Saturday by scores of 30-22, 30-12 and 30-19.
Sophomore Rachel Bello (Wyckoff, N.J.) led the Rams with a career-high 19 kills to go with 10 digs, posting her third double-double of the season. Senior Kaleena Miller (Mahopac, N.Y.) recorded her third double-double of the season with 17 kills and 10 digs.
Senior Beatriz Arana (Cali, Columbia) also reached double figures with 10 kills and junior libero Marie Rolfe (Toronto, Ontario) had 12 digs.
Freshman Chelsea Wisz (Naperville, Ill.) made her debut at setter and had 24 assists off the bench.
Rhody hit .422 as a team compared to Fairleigh Dickinson's .129. Bello led the Rams with a .643 hitting percentage with just one error in 28 attacks. Miller hit .462 and Arana posted a .421.
The Rams will be back in action again today at 4:00 p.m. when they take on Army.
