Men's Basketball Upends Richmond, 58-46

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Dawan Robinson scored 26 points as Rhode Island won its fourth consecutive game, 58-46 over Richmond on Saturday night.

Robinson scored eight points during a 12-1 run late in the game that turned a 40-38 lead into a 52-39 lead.

He scored six straight at one point and his basket with 3:02 left gave the Rams (10-6, 4-1 Atlantic 10) a 50-39 lead.

Jamaal Wise finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Rams.

Jermaine Bucknor was Richmond's high-scorer with 13, but made just four of 15 shots from the field. Kevin Steenberge added 11 for the Spiders.

Richmond (10-8, 3-2) was cold from the floor in the second half, making just six of 29 shots and going longer than seven minutes without a field goal at one point.

Rhode Island outscored Richmond 21-12 from the foul line. Robinson hit a long 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Rhode Island a 28-25 lead at halftime. There were three ties and four lead changes in the first half.
