Women's Volleyball Loses "Dig For The Cure" Match

KINGSTON, R.I. Sophomore outside hitter Jillian Bekke led the Rams with 12 kills and a .550 attack percentage while sophomore libero Leslie Wiekamp recorded a match-high 14 digs, but it was the Musketeers of Xavier pulling out the victory over the Rams, 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-24).

Senior outside hitter Rachel Bello put down nine kills and junior middle blocker Lauren Shea had seven kills. Inga Schlecht was credited with five kills, six digs and five service aces.

Today marked the second annual "Dig for the Cure" match hosted by Rhode Island Women's Volleyball. The 30 digs by the Rams today will be calculated with the pledges received and the total amount of money raised will be donated to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Rams take the court tomorrow at 1:00 p.m., against the Dayton Flyers in Keaney Gymnasium.
