Women's Volleyball Falls Short Against Brown

Providence, R.I. Rhode Island senior middle blocker Ivy Zuidhof tallied a match-high 19 kills, but it was Brown holding on for a 3-2 (28-30, 25-30, 30-17, 30-28, 13-15) victory in Providence, Tuesday.

Senior outside hitter Inga Schlecht tallied 14 kills along with 15 digs and three service aces while classmate Lindsay St. John contributed with 11 kills, 30 assists, and eight digs. Freshman libero Leslie Wiekamp played strong defense totaling 21 digs.

Brown swept the first two games of the match while Rhode Island came back to win the next two games. In the final game, the Rams led quickly 4-1 but then found themselves tied with 10-10. Brown then scored 3 straight points and clinched the match to beat the Rams.

Next up for the Rams will be at the Yale Invitational Tournament in Connecticut this weekend as they look for wins against Yale, Albany, and Central Connecticut.
