2007 Field Hockey All-Conference Teams
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Jen Cetenich (Seekonk, Mass.), Jill Powers (Leominster, Mass.) and Jeannie Records (North Kingstown, R.I.), each have earned 2007 Field Hockey All-Conference honors, announced today by the Atlantic 10. Cetenich and Powers were named second-team honorees, in voting conducted by the league's head coaches, while the Conference's sports information directors selected Records to the Academic All-Conference squad.
Cetenich, who landed a spot on the Second Team for the second-straight season, finished her senior campaign as the team's second leading scorer with eight points on two goals and a team-high four assists. The senior co-captain totaled 38 career points (14g, 10a) in her four seasons at URI.
A member of last season's All-Rookie squad, Powers earned second-team honors in 2007 after leading the Rams in scoring for the second-consecutive year. Finishing tied for eighth in the league with 16 points (7g, 2a), the sophomore forward also tied for fourth in the conference with three game-winning goals this season.
Records, a senior co-captain, earned her first Academic All-Conference honor after posting a 3.90 cumulative grade point average as an International Business major, double-minoring in Spanish and Chinese. She also was featured in the Atlantic 10/CSTV Student-Athlete Spotlight during last season's A-10 Men's Basketball Championship. A four-year starter at Rhode Island, she led the team in scoring as a freshman and went on to total 28 career points on 11 goals and 6 assists, including two game-winners this season.
The Rhody field hockey team finished its 2007 season with a 7-9 overall record (1-6 Atlantic 10).
